I Need Your Opinion

checkmarkI’ve added a little poll feature to my blog, and I’m hoping you can give me some input. So, I’ve created a little poll to ask your opinion about the most common information requests I receive here at CraftBusinessBlog.com.

You can choose up to three answers, but please only choose the answers that interest you (i.e. if you are only interested in one of the choices, please choose just the one). I’ll let you know in about a week what the results of the poll are, and what I can do to help answer some questions.

Here’s the poll:

What I’d like to do is tailor my comment to the interests of the Craft Business Blog community, so your input is most certainly appreciated.

NOTE: If you choose, the “Other” option, please post your other ideas as a Comment. All you need to do is click on the little “Comments” link next to the word bubble right below the title of this post.

Thanks for your help.

Happy Crafting!

Chuck

Fast, easy, successful displaying and fresh ideas for displaying in general. Strategies for dealing with so many jewelry crafters and espcially underpricing and hurting the market.

I want to set up my own small craft fairs in our area. There used to be some years ago, but there are a good number of talented crafters who would welcome the opportunity to take part in a small local fair again.

Do you have any helpful hints on how to go about it?

    Thank you.

PS your site is very helpful and has encouraged me to go to the doll fair as a seller in November this year!

I have a full time job and a small candle making business. I would like to get additional information on marketing my candles with the limited time I have to spare. At this time I have a beautiful display at a small shop, and do well selling my container and feather pillar candles at work, but I would like to go further with my business.

    Sincerely, Viola Sapountsis

I would like to learn everything that you have on the poll. I have tried shops and craft shows, but would like more information on starting a summer fair on a Saturday instead of doing the farmers market. Website and my own bricks and motar would be a great help.

I’ve acquired the basic supplies and equipment to start making candles and soaps to sell but have concerns about requirements regarding what licensing, insurance, and even labeling that is legally necessary. Perhaps this info would be covered in “How to sell my crafts” or “Marketing Tips and tricks”? (I selected both choices.)
    Thx,
    djs

ANY info is helpful. I haved saved SO MUCH info–it’s bookmarked, kept in email folders and some is printed out. There’s a wealth of info on the internet but there are some sites I return to time and again because there’s new info, regularly. I’ve saved a lot from you and know I’ll continue to–so keep up the good work:I know you will–this questionnaire is one proof of that…and Thanks! Dianne

I’ve have had several Craft Business over the years, Including a retail store that sold both craft supplies and finished crafts.
What I found to be the biggest problem is that most people do not take “Crafters’ serious. They consider a “Crafter” as a hobbist who just wants to sell his/her crafts so he/she can get more supplies to make more “Crafts.” That is almost a direct quote from a customer several years ago.
I have had people come to my booth and try to pick apart one of my items to see how it is made so he/she can go back home and make it themself..Also I have had this happen many times, “OH I can buy that at Wal-mart/K-Mart Etc..for less…you are asking to much money for that ..where was it made Japan or China”…very insulting!
SO….if you and /or other “Crafters” are having this problem( and I bet they are)how to combat it and make the Public more aware of the time ,effort and talent that goes into a “Crafters” work.

    Thanks

I’m very interested in how I can market my crochet projects. I’m also interest in learning how I can get to display my crafts at a craft show without paying to much to set up. I not only do crocheting for myself, but, I also teach crocheting to people who are interested in learning this wonderful hobby. You feed back in how I can expand my creative crochet crafts would be very much appreciated. I do not have a business of my own, but, would like to one day. I am in need to learn as much as possible on how I can market my products. Thanks in advance for your help.
